This new and exciting program is designed to provide aspiring licensed practical nurses* (LPN) with a flexible and convenient way to pursue their education and launch a successful career in healthcare where they can make a difference in their communities. Choosing to attend an online/hybrid program can provide many benefits for students; among them is added flexibility in balancing family, work, and school. Our LPN* training program is designed to help busy students further their education while maintaining their personal and professional lives. With an online/hybrid program, students can complete their coursework virtually on their own time and then attend clinical experiences at the UCI campus in Irwin, Pennsylvania, or regional healthcare facilities. The UCI Online staff and faculty are dedicated to the success of every student by providing individualized support throughout the educational experience. Our experienced instructors offer collaboration, support, and guidance for students during their time at UCI. One of the most exciting aspects of our new Online/Hybrid Practical Nursing program is the ability to start your career in as little as 12 months. Our accelerated and direct admission program allows you to begin taking practical nursing courses as soon as you are accepted into the program and then complete classes in a 6-week accelerated format. This saves students valuable time and money on their education and prepares them for careers as LPNs*. With robust skills and knowledge of the nursing process, ethics, patient care, back-office responsibilities, and more, UCI practical nursing graduates will be prepared to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN)* and start their careers. An LPN’s* skillset can allow them to work in hospitals, clinics, long-term healthcare facilities, in-home care agencies, and other healthcare facilities. In our Online/Hybrid Practical Nursing program, you’ll gain a wide range of skills and knowledge in topics such as anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, patient care, medical terminology, and more. Our comprehensive curriculum is designed to help you prepare for a successful career as an LPN*. Throughout the program, students will also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through lab situations at the UCI campus and through clinical rotations at regional healthcare facilities. Under the guidance of instructors and real-world nursing professionals, you put knowledge into practice to enhance the learning experience. These experiences equip you with valuable experience and prepare you for the challenges and responsibilities of working as a practical nurse in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
